A general accounting internship involves assisting the finance department with daily transactional tasks, financial reporting, and audits. Interns gain hands-on experience by reconciling accounts, processing invoices, and supporting month-end and year-end close procedures. It is an ideal stepping stone for students to apply textbook theories to real-world corporate settings.

• Transactional Support: Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), including processing invoices, matching POs, and tracking payments.
• Reconciliation: Help prepare bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and clear open ledger items.
• General Ledger (GL): Maintain journal entries, verify financial transactions, and update the general ledger accurately.
• Month-End Close: Assist the finance team in compiling data for month-end and year-end closings, ensuring reports align with accounting standards.
• Audit & Compliance: Help organize financial documents, track down receipts, and pull data for internal or statutory audits.
• Ad-Hoc Tasks: Provide administrative and general accounting support as directed by supervisors.

Key Requirements

• Education: Currently pursuing a Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Admin or a related business field.
• Technical Skills: Basic understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) would be an advantage.
• Soft Skills: High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a strong desire to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability: Typically requires a commitment ranging from 3 to 6 months.

What to Expect (Internship Outcomes)Interns typically work closely with Senior Accountants or Accounts Managers. You will learn how to operate accounting software SQL system and develop a foundational understanding of corporate compliance, tax reporting, and financial forecasting

Pay: RM800.00 - RM1,000.00 per month
