Job Description

Requirements

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair on material handling equipment (MHE) such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery.

  • Diagnose mechanical issues using technical knowledge and diagnostic tools, identifying root causes of malfunctions.

  • Execute repairs and replacements of faulty parts, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard of quality and safety.

  • Utilize hand tools and power tools proficiently to assemble, disassemble, and repair equipment components.

  • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide repair and maintenance procedures.

  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and time spent.

  • Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems and learn new repair techniques.

  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.

  • Assist in the refurbishment process of MHE, including cleaning, painting, and functional testing.

  • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail in all tasks, ensuring precision and accuracy in repairs and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technicians in the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of material handling equipment (MHE) such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other industrial machinery.

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and general cleaning of equipment according to established procedures.

  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble mechanical components, ensuring all parts are correctly fitted and functional.

  • Utilize hand tools and basic power tools safely and effectively to complete repair and maintenance tasks.

  • Identify and report any worn, damaged, or malfunctioning parts to the supervisor, suggesting necessary replacements or repairs.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored after use.

  • Document work performed, including parts used and time spent, for record-keeping and reporting purposes.

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while performing duties to ensure a safe working environment.
