Requirements
Bachelor’s degree focused in related areas (Business, Supply Chain)
Cumulatively, this individual would have cumulative of 10 years working experience with 5+ years of solid and senior level experience in sourcing and negotiating professional services agreements, or other related industry experience, which can include roles within health insurance/financial industry or Tech of Fortune 500 company.
Experience drafting, negotiating, and managing supplier agreements in business services, Indirect Category such as real estate, facilities management, office supplies, security and reception, etc.
Strong issue spotting skills and ability to identify, advocate and educate stakeholders regarding different potential outcomes and suggestions to resolve those issues
Ability to influence others with excellent English written and verbal communication skills
Additional language skills such as Korean and Mandarin will be highly advantageous
Self-motivated and collaborative leader
Knowledge of best-in-class Sourcing, Contracting and Vendor Management processes
Excellent relationship management skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively
Extremely customer-focused, taking the time to understand the needs of the business
Preferred Qualifications & Traits
Advanced degree in related areas, such as Contracts, Business or Supply Chain
5+ years of experience practicing best-in-class procurement or operation processes (category management, benchmarking, TCO (cost models), RFX, etc.)
Digital sourcing tools usage such as SAP Ariba, iValua, Coupa etc are highly advantageous
Regional/MNC experiences will be an asset
Comfortable in a fluid and matrix environment
Responsibilities
Support and/or lead all aspects of the sourcing processes for assigned suppliers, including but not limited to taking lead or supporting on contract negotiations of business and pricing terms and conditions, conducting research and providing benchmark data on pricing and/or other key terms and conditions, facilitating RFPs, and working with the internal business partners and Sourcing Manager to develop negotiations strategies, objectives and plans.
Participate in cross functional sourcing project teams to develop AIG’s requirements for professional services supplier requirements and to reach consensus on supplier selections. This includes drafting necessary language to translate business needs into specific requirements for contract-related documents, e.g. Statements of Work (SOW), Letters of Authorization (LOAs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), etc for assigned suppliers. This also includes supporting the team to reach consensus, meet milestones and complete contracting by business partner required dates.
Establish strong relationships with business stakeholders; build a strong understanding of strategic business direction, requirements and priorities across assigned spend categories.
Provide guidance to Leadership on procurement strategies and maintain procurement ethics in accordance with AIG’s global policies.
Keep up to date with trends and best practices for professional services suppliers, including monitoring the supplier’s landscape and relevant regulatory changes impacting professional services category.
Assess supplier performance to ensure suppliers fulfill their contractual obligations and are delivering quality services to business stakeholders.
