Job Description

Requirements

  • Greet and welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner, managing the reception area to ensure a clean and organized environment.

  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, manage the appointment book, and handle cancellations or rescheduling efficiently.

  • Register new patients, collect and update patient information, including insurance details and medical history, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate staff members.

  • Process patient payments, manage billing inquiries, and prepare daily financial reports.

  • Maintain patient records, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and stored securely in compliance with privacy regulations.

  • Assist with basic administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and managing office supplies.

  • Provide information and basic education to patients regarding dental procedures, appointment preparation, and post-treatment care as directed by the dental team.

  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding towards patients, particularly those who may be anxious or in discomfort.

  • Collaborate effectively with dentists, dental assistants, and other team members to ensure smooth patient flow and excellent service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments efficiently using practice management software, optimizing the dentist's and hygienists' schedules.

  • Manage patient records accurately, including updating personal information, insurance details, and treatment history.

  • Process patient payments, handle billing inquiries, and prepare daily financial reports.

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area, ensuring it is tidy and presentable at all times.

  • Assist with basic administrative tasks such as filing, scanning documents, and managing office supplies.

  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, answer questions about treatment plans, and provide post-appointment instructions.

  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding towards patients, especially those who may be anxious or in pain.

  • Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely communication regarding patient needs.
