Requirements
University Students & Interns Welcome!
- Previous involvement in art-related activities or projects. Teaching experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- Demonstrable knowledge of various art and craft techniques.
- Ability to create and adapt projects suitable for children of various age groups.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and the ability to manage groups of children.
- A portfolio of previous work or projects is a plus but not mandatory.
Special Note to University Students & Interns:
- We encourage university students and those seeking internships to apply! This role is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop teaching skills, and build a portfolio. Internship credits can be discussed if applicable to your study program.
Responsibilities
Hours: 15-20 hours per week, with potential for additional hours during peak times or special events.
Objective: To provide engaging DIY art and craft sessions suitable for children, promoting creativity, fun, and the utilization of our store’s stationery products.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction and Facilitation
- Plan and execute age-appropriate DIY art and craft projects.
- Engage and instruct groups of children, ensuring a productive and safe learning environment.
- Adapt lessons to suit varying age groups and skill levels.
Class Preparation
- Prepare materials and supplies before each session.
- Ensure the workspace is set up in an organized and child-friendly manner.
- Clean up and restore the workspace after each session.
Product Promotion
- Incorporate and demonstrate the use of the stationery shop's products in projects.
- Stay updated on our product range to incorporate new items into sessions.
Event Coordination
- Assist in organizing and hosting special craft events or workshops.
- Collaborate with the store management team to promote these events.
Administrative Duties
- Keep a record of inventory used, highlighting any popular or depleted items.
- Document and photograph completed projects for promotional purposes (with parental consent).
Feedback and Development
- Collect feedback from children and parents to improve the quality of sessions.
- Continuously enhance personal art and craft skills, bringing fresh ideas to the role.
