Key Responsibilities
1. Statutory Compliance & Regulatory Liaison
- Competent Person: Act as the officially registered Orang Kompeten (Chargeman A0) for the facility under Suruhanjaya Tenaga regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all low-voltage electrical installations, equipment, and plant operations strictly comply with the Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Electricity Regulations 1994.
- Liaison Officer: Serve as the primary point of contact to liaise directly with Suruhanjaya Tenaga, external auditors, government bodies, and internal stakeholders on all electrical compliance and certification matters.
- Logbook & Documentation: Maintain, update, and manage all statutory records, operation logbooks, test reports, and compliance documentation required by law.
2. Electrical Operations & Maintenance
- Daily Supervision: Supervise and control live low-voltage electrical distribution systems (without aerial lines and power stations) to ensure uninterrupted production operations.
- Preventive Maintenance (PM): Formulate, plan, and execute routine PM schedules for electrical systems, transformers, switchboards, and distribution boards to mitigate downtime risk.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Conduct rapid fault-finding, diagnostic testing, and emergency repair works on malfunctioning electrical equipment and control systems.
- Vendor Management: Coordinate, oversee, and audit external service providers, contractors, and consultants during specialized servicing, structural upgrades, or testing.
3. General Facilities & EHS Support
- EHS Alignment: Partner closely with the Occupational Safety and Health (EHS) Officer to champion a culture of zero hazards and maintain safety standards across the engineering floor.
- Emergency Response: Lead internal first-aid, resuscitation, and emergency protocols in cases of electrical shock, incidents, or total power failure.
- Shift Management: Coordinate or stand-in as the competent person across operational shifts if required by site management to ensure ongoing legality of operations.
- Energy Management: Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on energy efficiency, cost reduction, and sustainable factory facilities layout.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Official Statutory Requirements (Suruhanjaya Tenaga - Regulation 49)
- Nationality: Must be a Malaysian Citizen.
- Age: Minimum 20 years of age or older.
- Certification: Must possess a valid, active Perakuan Kekompetenan Chargeman A0 issued and registered with the Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission Malaysia).
- Language Proficiency: Must be fully able to speak, write, and comprehend Bahasa Malaysia confidently (essential for official regulatory reporting).
Education & Experience
- Education: Minimum completion of Form Five (SPM) or equivalent; holding a Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering is highly advantageous.
- Technical Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on working experience in an industrial environment involving the direct operation, maintenance, and live control of low-voltage electrical distribution systems.
- First Aid Competency: Possess verified knowledge and practical skills in basic first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and treatment protocols for electrical shock.
- Legal Literacy: Demonstrated knowledge and thorough understanding of the clauses within the Electricity Supply Act 1990 and its governing regulations.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
