Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled AV Network Engineer with experience in configuring Layer 3 network switches and a strong interest or experience in AV over IP networks such as Dante, NDI, and IPMX. The ideal candidate will design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructures that support both traditional IT and AV environments, ensuring high performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and manage Layer 3 network switches, including VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, static routing), and QoS settings.

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot AV over IP networks, including Dante audio, NDI video, and IPMX workflows.

• Ensure proper network segmentation and bandwidth management for AV devices.

• Monitor and maintain network health, security, and performance for both IT and AV systems.

• Collaborate with AV and IT teams to plan and deploy multi-room or multi-site AV network solutions.

• Conduct network audits, documentation, and reporting.

• Assist in the integration of AV control systems with the network infrastructure.

• Provide technical support and training to internal teams as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Proven experience configuring Layer 3 switches (Cisco, HPE/Aruba, Juniper, or equivalent).

• Knowledge of network protocols, VLANs, QoS, IGMP, and routing.

• Experience or interest in AV over IP technologies: Dante, NDI, IPMX, AVB is a plus.

• Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Desirable Skills:

• Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, AVIXA CTS, or equivalent.

• Hands-on experience with AV control systems, media servers, or digital signal processing.

• Knowledge of multicast networking for AV streaming.

• Understanding of PoE (Power over Ethernet) for AV devices.
