We are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL DBA to join our team and support large-scale production database environments.

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Employment Type: 1-Year Contract

Work Mode: Onsite

24x7 Shift Support

Key Requirements:

• Strong experience with PostgreSQL (Version 14 and above) on Linux environments

• Good understanding of PostgreSQL architecture, MVCC, WAL, and background processes

• Hands-on experience in installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching of PostgreSQL databases

• Experience with High Availability solutions such as Patroni and EDB Failover Manager (EFM)

• Strong knowledge of streaming replication and distributed replication concepts

• Experience managing large-scale OLTP production databases

Backup, Recovery & Performance:

Backup and recovery using Barman, pg_basebackup, pgBackRest, and WAL Archiving

Point-In-Time Recovery (PITR) experience

Query optimization and performance tuning using EXPLAIN and pg_stat_statements

Knowledge of partitioning, indexing, and connection pooling tools (PgBouncer/Pgpool-II)

Security & Additional Skills:

• Experience in database security, SSL configuration, auditing, and compliance

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL extensions such as PostGIS, pg_partman, and pg_repack

• Exposure to AWS RDS PostgreSQL is an added advantage

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills

• Willing to provide 24x7 production support and participate in on-call rotation
