- To support Canteen Staff food preparations, clean and organized managed product storages, maintenance and rotation activities to avoid any damage or spoilages at staff cafeteria.
- To follow recipe strictly to ensure that all food is prepared correctly, and also be able to make adjustments to recipes based on feedback from staff and management.
- Responsible to ensure canteen operations carried out to the highest possible standard.
- To ensure products are properly labelled with nutritional content, stocking plan and expiration dates to prevent under stocks and overhangs.
- Responsible for maintenance and supervising good housekeeping practices in all food production areas including walk-ins and freezers, strictly enforcing the “clean as you go” policy.
- Constantly spot check food and quality service during all meal periods to ensure the foods served meet our portion control and quality standards.
- To fill up daily Store Requisition & Market List in Ehors System.
- Assist in planning menu and involve in food promotion.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commis or similar role in a hotel, resort or restaurant
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
- Ability to manage a specific section of the kitchen independently
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (e.g. HACCP)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificate or Diploma in Culinary Arts or related field
- Experience in resort or high-volume kitchen environment is an advantage
- Basic knowledge of inventory control and kitchen cost management
- Ability to supervise and guide junior kitchen staff
