Leadership & Management Responsibilities
Recruitment & Retention
- Recruit, interview, and onboard Purchasing staff
- Communicate hiring criteria to recruiters
- Monitor employee turnover and implement improvement actions
Employee & Team Development
- Identify individual and team strengths and development needs
- Develop and validate training programs
- Coach and mentor team members to achieve high performance
- Create and manage succession planning for the Materials function
Performance Management
- Set clear KPIs and measurable goals for individuals and teams
- Provide continuous feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations
- Drive continuous improvement in operational metrics
- Manage team performance during high-pressure or crisis situations
- Ensure fair and consistent recognition and reward systems
Communication
- Conduct regular team meetings for updates and idea sharing
- Communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats
- Encourage team input and engagement
- Adapt communication style based on team dynamics
Functional Management Responsibilities
Business Strategy
- Understand and align with organizational strategic direction
- Develop and implement Materials and Supply Chain strategies
- Support Workcell business objectives
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders (BUM, WCM, Materials Manager)
Cost Management
- Identify cost reduction opportunities through process improvements
- Monitor and analyze cost trends using appropriate tools
- Provide cost-related insights to management
Forecasting
- Prepare accurate and timely forecasts
- Analyze forecast vs. actual performance for trend improvement
Technical Management Responsibilities
- Support and execute Supply Chain initiatives and strategies
- Ensure alignment with company supply chain processes
- Support customer needs through standard and customized solutions
- Influence customers to adopt supply chain best practices
- Ensure realistic Master Production Schedule (MPS) planning
- Monitor MRP to ensure material availability for production
- Resolve issues such as shortages, excess, and obsolete stock
- Drive reduction in total material costs (pricing, freight, liability)
- Manage pricing processes to ensure data accuracy and cost competitiveness
- Ensure all purchase orders comply with agreed pricing and terms
- Maintain compliance with safety, health, and company policies
Requirements
- Diploma with 3–5 years of experience in purchasing leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Business Administration, or equivalent (preferred)
Pay: RM9,000.00 - RM11,000.00 per month
