• Teaching and Learning
  • Deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, and online classes in assigned subjects.
  • Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assessments, and learning resources.
  • Utilize effective teaching methodologies and educational technologies to enhance student learning.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and learning in accordance with university policies and MQA requirements.
  • Provide consultation and academic guidance to students.

• Assessment and Student Development
  • Design, administer, and evaluate examinations, assignments, presentations, and other assessments.
  • Mark and provide timely feedback on students' work.
  • Monitor student attendance, academic performance, and progression.
  • Act as Academic Advisor and provide pastoral support to students where required.

• Curriculum Development
  • Review and update course syllabi, teaching materials, and assessment methods.
  • Participate in programme accreditation, quality assurance, and curriculum enhancement activities.
  • Contribute to the development of new academic programmes and courses.

• Research and Scholarly Activities
  • Engage in research, publications, conferences, and scholarly activities.
  • Contribute to the university's research and publication targets.
  • Supervise student research projects where applicable.

• Administration and Academic Service
  • Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and university events.
  • Assist in student recruitment, marketing activities, open days, and promotional events.
  • Undertake administrative duties assigned by the Head of Department or Dean.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies, MQA standards, and Ministry of Higher Education requirements.

Master's Degree in English, TESL, Applied Linguistics, English Language Studies, Literature, or a related field (minimum requirement).
• PhD in a related field is an added advantage.
• Teaching experience in higher education institutions is preferred.
• Professional certification such as TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA is an added advantage.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to teach both face-to-face and online classes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and educational technology.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multicultural environment.
