Founded in 2008, Focus Applied Technologies Sdn. Bhd. (Co. No. **8620-V) was formed as an industrial research partner of the University Science Malaysia associated with the USM Engines Laboratory. We have 2 locations, our head office and R&D center in Bandar Baharu, Kedah, and our engine test center in Kedah near Sungai Kecil Hilir.

Our customer base has grown out of the initial university related contacts to the international market. We have sales in the USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Egypt, Germany, China, The Philippians and Taiwan. Our goal is to leverage off of the domestic strengths and resources of Malaysia to advantageously take on the global engines and vehicle test equipment market.

Our main product lines include engine and chassis dynamometers, engine test systems, engine and vehicle testing services, dynamometer controllers, electronic fuel injection systems and other control systems. In response to customer demand we have been providing an increasing amount of testing services, including product development and basic R&D. Much of this leverages off of our wide range of production test and instrumentation equipment.

As a manufacturer of engine and vehicle test systems, we also offer a wide range of testing services including Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) certification, Fuel Consumption and Emissions verification, Electric Vehicle Range and Battery Life Time certification for national and international certification bodies. Focus also services industry with long term reliability testing of engine and vehicle components on our engine test beds running up to 5,000 hours per year. Finally, we are involved in governmental policy making at the national and international level, performing consulting for the Malaysian government, various ASEAN working groups, as well as working with the UNEP, UNFCCC and other international partners such as GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit or the German Bureau of International Cooperation).

In view of our unique expertise we are often requested to deliver “Technical Training” workshops. These involve topics such as: Internal combustion Engines, Engine testing and dynamometry, Control Systems, PID tuning, Engineering Problem Solving. Additionally, we also offer a wide range of engineering consulting services from design and fabrication to problem solving and failure analysis for various industries as well as academic and governmental institutions including in Malaysia, SIRIM, JPJ, as well as ASEAN and the UN.
