And we were one of the pioneer companies to be set up on the island, widely recognized as the Silicon Valley of the East and home to many of the world’s multinational corporations. Today, as one of the largest and best equipped OSRAM Opto Semiconductors production facilities, the Penang operations features cutting-edge development capabilities with 7700 employees as of 2017. In addition, the world's most modern factory for LED chips on six-inch wafers was recently opened in Kulim.
