Does company have the right to ask probation to give 1 month notice after resignation.

Does company have the right to ask probation to give 1 month notice after resignation. Terms had written in the offer letter but it doesn't feel to make sense. I thought probation period is a period to test the compatible between the employee and the company

Yes, the company has the right to ask for a one-month notice period during probation as it is mentioned in the offer letter. This is a legal agreement between the employer and the employee that must be honored. The probation period is indeed used to test the compatibility between the employee and the company, but it's also a time for the company to assess the employee's skills and work ethic. A notice period allows the company to prepare for the employee's departure and make arrangements for a replacement. It also ensures that the employee completes any pending work and transfers knowledge to their successor in a smooth manner. If the employee fails to give the required notice period, the company has the right to deduct the salary or other dues as compensation for the inconvenience caused.
