Our platform combines a distributed practitioner network, mobile-first patient experience, and integrated medication fulfillment into a single seamless workflow.

About the Role

• This is a full-time, fully remote Backend Developer role for candidates based in Malaysia. No relocation required — you'll work from wherever you're most productive in Malaysia, with full timezone alignment to our Hong Kong team (both UTC+8).

• You'll design, develop, and maintain the scalable backend services and APIs that power our mobile platform, working primarily within a modern Django + DRF codebase.

• We are an AI-native engineering team. We heavily leverage AI-powered coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) for both feature development and platform maintenance, and we expect you to actively use, manage, and adapt to these workflows — not as a side experiment, but as the default way we ship.

• We're hiring based on capability, not years of experience. A developer who genuinely ships fast with AI tooling will outperform a more senior engineer who doesn't — and we want to talk to either.

• Day-to-day, you'll collaborate directly with the founder, product, mobile, and front-end teams to refine requirements, deliver features, and resolve issues. You'll participate in AI-assisted code reviews, improve workflows with LLM tooling, write automated tests, and contribute to architectural decisions as the platform scales. Working in a lean team means real ownership from day one.

What We're Looking For

• AI-assisted development capability: Demonstrable track record adopting and getting real leverage from AI-powered coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot). We want to see what you've actually built with them — not just that you've used them.

• Django + DRF: Working experience building production services with Django (recent versions) and Django REST Framework.

• PostgreSQL: Hands-on experience with schema design, indexing, and writing efficient queries.

• REST API design: Comfort building well-structured RESTful APIs and collaborating with client-side teams on API contracts.

• Cloud platform experience: Production exposure to GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure — including basic understanding of secret management, deployment, and monitoring.

• Engineering fundamentals: Solid grounding in security, performance, and clean code practices, with the judgment to critically review AI-generated output.

• Remote collaboration: Strong written communication and ability to work autonomously in a remote-first team.

• Location: Based in Malaysia, with work authorization to work as an independent contractor or through an appropriate employment structure.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Would be great if you are

• Experience in healthcare, digital health, or regulated environments (familiarity with data privacy regimes such as PDPO, PDPA, or GDPR a strong plus).

• Integration experience with third-party APIs across video, payments, clinical data standards, and logistics.

• Direct experience integrating LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI) into backend services.

• Mobile-first product experience.
