Responsibilities
SUMMARY
We are looking for a Site Design Manager who will be responsible in managing the Data Centre Design to meet reliability and availability requirements, efficiency and sustainability benchmarks (PUE& WUE), international best practices, regulatory requirements, safety in design, cost target and speed to market.
The Site Design Manager will report directly to the HOD - Vice President, Design Delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· The Site Design Manager is accountable for completing multiple projects in parallel (both greenfield and fit out), within budget and program.
· The project will span across regional metros. This role must develop design brief & key metrics to ensure consistency in design quality and requirements.
· As such, the Site Design Manager holds consultant and professional team accountable for meeting the project design intent and deliverables.
· They will manage a consortium of consultants and professional team which includes but not limited to town planner, architect, civil & structural engineer, mechanical and electrical engineer, environmental consultant, LEED consultant, and geotechnical engineer.
· He/She will partner with suppliers and designers to drive improvement initiatives in safety, efficiency and sustainability.
· This role will involve traveling to sites to ensure the method of construction, site coordination and equipment performance meets design criteria, concurrent maintainability and reliability standards.
KEY DELIVERABLES
· Site due diligence
· Well-versed in authority submission protocol
· Fulfilment of authority submission requirement
· Pre-customer contract planning and design
· Deliver the design for core & shell and municipal services until achieving occupancy permit
· Manage consultants on key design milestones
· Manage consultants on quality of design
· Manage core & shell design variation
· Cross-disciplinary coordination
· Timely resolution of construction issues
· Responsible for code compliant design
· Responsible for the planning of resources to meet project requirements.
· 1st level of escalation and coordinator with internal and external stakeholders.
· Initiator of design improvement from lesson learnt.
· Oversee project design delivery and construction quality
· Provide innovative proposal to improve speed to market in design delivery
REQUIREMENTS
· Proven design experience managing projects across regional metros
· Minimum 10 years in design consultancy with at least 5 years in a principal engineer role
· Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, and influencing skills demonstrated through managing multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
· Experience with Design Bid Build, Design & Build, and other design delivery methodologies
· Flexibility to relocate and travel as required for business needs
