The Enterprise Architecture Lead at FairPrice Group (FPG) will define and drive the enterprise technology architecture strategy across the Group’s business, retail, digital, supply chain, and corporate platforms. The role is responsible for shaping the future-state enterprise application and platform ecosystem, ensuring alignment with business transformation priorities, operational scalability, customer experience objectives, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities.
This role will provide strategic leadership across enterprise platforms, cloud technologies, integration architecture, data, AI, and digital capabilities to establish a scalable, secure, and future-ready technology landscape across FairPrice Group.
The incumbent will partner closely with Business, Product, Engineering, Data, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Transformation leaders to modernize enterprise capabilities, establish architecture governance, drive technology standardization, and enable enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Governance & Planning
- Define and govern enterprise architecture principles, standards, roadmaps, and the target-state architecture.
- Lead the design of technology solutions across the group by partnering Digital & Technology domain leaders, ensuring strict alignment with architectural standards, business requirements, and optimal utilization of the existing application portfolio.
- Drive rationalisation and optimisation of the application landscape to reduce complexity, improve interoperability, and minimise technical debt.
Platform Modernization & Oversight
- Provide strategic leadership and architectural guidance across all enterprise platforms and business-critical systems (e.g., merchandising, POS, warehouse management (WMS), eCommerce, ERP).
- Oversee Application Portfolio Management, including the lifecycle planning, optimisation, and retirement of enterprise applications.
- Develop and implement enterprise integration strategies using modern patterns (APIs, event-driven architecture, microservices) for seamless and secure dataflow.
- Establish architectural guardrails for responsible AI adoption and continuously assess technology trends.
Transformation & Delivery
- Translate business strategy into enterprise technology capabilities and transformation roadmaps.
- Lead enterprise solution architecture and review architectural decisions across all programs.
- Ensure architecture decisions balance business value, security, and operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
Experience & Leadership
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise technology, architecture, or digital transformation roles, with at least 5+ years in enterprise architecture, platform strategy, or large-scale transformation leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading enterprise-wide architecture initiatives and complex technology transformation programmes in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong experience within Retail, Consumer, eCommerce, Supply Chain, or highly integrated enterprise ecosystems preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and partner senior stakeholders across Business and Technology functions, including C-suite leadership.
Enterprise Architecture & Technical Expertise
- Deep understanding of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and practices (e.g. TOGAF, business architecture, application architecture, integration architecture, technology architecture).
- Experience with modern architecture patterns including API-first architecture, event-driven architecture, microservices, and cloud-native platforms.
- Proven understanding of cloud architecture and enterprise technologies across Google Cloud, AWS and other environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise systems commonly used within retail and enterprise environments including ERP, POS, CRM/CDP, WMS, eCommerce, and data platforms.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, platform interoperability, and enterprise integration principles.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional architecture and engineering teams within fast-paced transformation environments.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to balance long-term enterprise architecture vision with practical delivery and business outcomes.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- TOGAF or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification preferred.
- Cloud, architecture, or technology platform certifications are advantageous.
