As a public listed entity, we pride ourselves on robust corporate governance, sustainable growth, and a dynamic corporate culture. We are seeking an experienced, high-caliber HR Manager to act as a key lieutenant to our Head of Group HR, driving operational excellence and bridging the gap between corporate strategy and frontline retail execution.

Position Overview

In this pivotal role, you will directly support the Head of Group HR in overseeing human resources operations across our corporate headquarter and widespread retail network. You will be responsible for translating group-level HR strategies into actionable initiatives, managing day-to-day HR functions, including talent management, rewards & recognition, culture-building, workforce planning, organisational design, and performance management, and ensuring strict compliance with public company governance standards. This is an ideal role for a high-performing HR professional ready to step into a high-visibility position with exposure to public-listed corporate governance.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Support & Corporate Governance

  • Partner closely with the Head of Group HR to implement group-wide HR policies, culture transformation initiatives, and organizational design.

  • Support the Head of Group HR in collaborating with department leaders to implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with business goals.

  • Assist the Head of Group HR in preparing high-level reports, workforce analytics, and presentations for the Board of Directors, Nomination Committee, Remuneration Committee, and assist in compiling HR data and Annual Sustainability (ESG) reporting.

  • Ensure all retail and corporate HR practices strictly align with public-listed company (PLC) regulatory requirements and local labour laws.

HR Operations & Workforce Optimization

  • Oversee HR operations for both corporate divisions and high-volume retail stores.

  • Collaborate with Area/Store Managers to optimize workforce scheduling, manage labour costs, and streamline retail productivity.

  • Involves the manpower planning process by collecting and organizing data on headcount, organization structure, and budget requirements.

Talent Management & Performance

  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment for both corporate roles and high-volume retail store positions.

  • Execute the annual performance appraisal cycle, ensuring clear, measurable KPIs are established for all employees.

  • Support the Head of Group HR in succession planning and talent mapping for critical leadership roles within the retail business.

  • Manage payroll verification, benefits administration, and incentive/commission schemes tailored to retail store performance.

Employee Relations & Retention

  • Manage end-to-end employee relations, offering guidance on grievances, disciplinary actions, and industrial relations issues, escalating to the Head of Group HR when necessary.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture that supports employee engagement, well-being, and diversity.

  • Involves workplace health and safety (OSHA) compliance across all premises.

Learning & Development

  • Work closely with the Learning & Development Manager to identify training needs and implement structured onboarding programs for employees and retail employees to ensure high standards of customer service and product knowledge.

  • Identify and groom high-potential employees for leadership succession within the retail network.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional HR certification is a plus.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5–7 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in an HR managerial role.

    • Preferred: Prior experience in a Public Listed Company (PLC) or a large corporate group structure. Direct HR experience in the Retail, FMCG, or F&B industries. However, without this experience, calibre candidates are welcome to apply.

    • Mid-career HR professional with experience across multiple HR disciplines, such as business partnering, talent management, employee relations, organisational development, and performance management.

  • Skills & Knowledge:

    • Strong command of local labour laws, employment acts, and industrial relations.

    • Strong business acumen and problem-solving capability, with the ability to analyse complex situations, connect insights, and develop practical, effective solutions.

    • Collaborative and proactive team player with the ability to work cross-functionally and drive outcomes through strong stakeholder management.

    • Highly organised with strong execution capabilities, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment.

    • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and present effectively to diverse and sizeable audiences.

    • Proficiency in HRIS systems and data-driven reporting.

  • Attributes: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, high emotional intelligence, highly skilled in HR operations, and the ability to act as a reliable right-hand to the Head of Group HR.
