The Section Head, Continuous Development and Consultancy exist to build and sustain the professional capability of Great Eastern Life’s financial representative force — ensuring financial representatives meet regulatory CPD requirements while developing the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to serve clients and grow their practice. The role contributes directly to the organisation’s salesforce performance and its reputation as a centre of excellence for adviser development within the Singapore financial services industry.
- Lead the design and delivery of multi-tier training programmes for financial representatives, mapped to the IBF Skills Framework – building capabilities across product knowledge, sales skills and digital literacy
- Design and deliver core regulatory and supplementary courses, ensuring all financial representatives fulfil their mandatory yearly CPD requirements
- Develop and manage IBF-accredited programmes, including curriculum design, assessment frameworks, and submission for formal accreditation to bring up the professional standards of representative.
- Build and manage a Practitioner-Associate Trainer Model — identifying, developing, and coaching high-performing advisers to serve as in-house trainers and learning champions
- Build an achiever ecosystem comprising programmes and learning seminars, to support representatives in achieving MDRT, IDA, and Great Eastern Life Achievers Club (GELAC) awards
- Manage relationships with industry bodies including SCI, MDRT, and IFPAS — providing practitioner feedback, co-designing programmes, and representing the organisation at the sector level
- Lead and develop the Continuous Development team, setting direction, managing performance, and building team capability
- Track and evaluate training effectiveness, translating data and learner feedback into programme improvements
- Possess a minimum of 8 years’ experience in Learning & Development and in developing agency manpower capabilities, preferably within the financial services sector
- Bachelor’s degree in business or finance, with relevant certifications including CMFAS Modules 5, 8, 8A, 9, and 9A, as well as Health and General Insurance certifications. Additional professional qualifications such as ACLP, CFP, or ChFC are advantageous.
- Have strong knowledge of the IBF Skills Framework and CPD requirements for financial representatives
- Can manage multiple stakeholders across business units, industry bodies, and external training partners
- Have experience leading a team and developing others
- Communicate clearly and confidently across all levels — from frontline advisers to senior leadership
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with basic knowledge of course authoring tools such as iSpring Suite; experience with such tools is a plus.
