We are looking for a Facility Engineer to support and oversee the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the plant’s industrial utility systems, with a primary focus on industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia and freon-based systems.
This role will also support the plant’s boiler, thermal oil heater, steam and condensate, compressed air, and water supply utility systems. The position plays an important role in ensuring equipment reliability, safety compliance, energy optimisation, and smooth plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of ammonia and freon-based refrigeration systems.
- Monitor system performance and coordinate corrective actions for any abnormal conditions.
- Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance plans are carried out effectively.
- Support boiler, thermal oil heater, steam, condensate, compressed air, and water utility systems.
- Lead troubleshooting and reliability improvement initiatives for utility systems.
- Supervise and guide the Facilities team, including boilerman, refrigeration technicians, and associates.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for maintenance, repairs, inspections, and improvement works.
- Support Process Safety Management activities, including MOC, PHA, MI, PSSR, SOPs, training, and incident investigation.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, statutory, and operational requirements.
- Maintain proper technical documentation such as SOPs, P&IDs, training records, MOC logs, and maintenance records.
- Support energy efficiency and utility optimisation projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial refrigeration systems, preferably in manufacturing or process industries.
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to boiler, steam, thermal oil, compressed air, water supply, or other industrial utilities is preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Hands-on experience in Process Safety Management or compliance-related activities is an added advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting, planning, communication, and documentation skills.
- Able to work in an industrial plant environment and support flexible working hours or on-call duties when required.
