Job Responsibilities

  • Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations.
  • Act an an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities.
  • Provide analysis on costs, new and existing, and review cost reduction activities.
  • Coordinate, source, and negotiate cost-effective solutions for RFQ (DM/IDM).
  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models.
  • Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Selecting strategic suppliers through ASL which have the ability to meet delivery, quality, and competitiveness requirement.
  • Prepare and raise purchase orders (DM/IDM) and order schedules.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues.
  • To monitor the supplier On Time Delivery & ensure KPI target is met.
  • Submit the OTD & Cost Saving monthly report.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Management from time to time as deemed necessary.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a purchasing or procurement role, ideally within the manufacturing, transport or logistics industry
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills with the ability to build and maintain productive supplier relationships
  • Proficient in analysing data, identifying trends and making data-driven recommendations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Solid understanding of purchasing processes, inventory management and logistics operations
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or a related field

Pay: RM2,400.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
