Essensia Global Specialities Pte Ltd delivers innovative ingredient solutions to the Food & Beverage (F&B), Flavours & Fragrances (F&F), and Home & Personal Care (HPC) industries. The company partners closely with procurement and R&D teams to address challenges related to cost optimization, product performance, and supply continuity. Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Head of Business Development to lead customer acquisition and market expansion across Southeast Asia. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing strategic partnerships with customers in FMCG, Food & Beverage, Home & Personal Care, and Food Service sectors.

The ideal candidate will have strong B2B sales experience within ingredient solutions, specialty chemicals, or related industries, with proven success in building long-term customer relationships and expanding regional business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across Southeast Asia.
  • Build and execute strategic sales plans to expand the customer base.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, target industries, and potential customers.
  • Generate leads, manage sales pipelines, and convert opportunities into long-term business partnerships.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their commercial and technical requirements.
  • Manage key accounts and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Engage with both technical stakeholders (R&D, product development teams) and commercial stakeholders (procurement, sourcing teams).

Commercial & Account Management

  • Prepare sales proposals, quotations, and pricing strategies.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and contract discussions with customers.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on business opportunities and account growth initiatives.
  • Monitor sales performance and achieve revenue targets.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with internal supply chain, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
  • Coordinate with product and sourcing teams to align customer requirements with available solutions.
  • Support product presentations, demonstrations, and technical discussions with clients.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, Food Science, Chemistry, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of sales/business development experience in B2B industries.
  • Prior experience in food ingredients, flavors & fragrances, specialty chemicals, or FMCG ingredient sales is highly preferred.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record in business development and key account management.
  • Strong network within FMCG, Food & Beverage, Home & Personal Care, or related sectors.
  • Experience engaging with procurement teams, R&D departments, and technical buyers.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Willingness to travel across Southeast Asia for business development activities.
