Objectives of the Position

  • At BASF Aroma Ingredients, we are accelerating growth through capacity expansions and portfolio strengthening in an increasingly competitive global landscape. Our ambition is to maintain and further reinforce our position as a leading global supplier of Aroma Ingredients.
  • The role focuses on driving business growth by providing market and competitive intelligence across the Flavor & Fragrance (F&F) industry value chain and deeply assessing our competitors.
  • Build and run an end-to-end intelligence engine, structuring intelligence, and turning data into decision-ready insight.
  • Continuously monitor and assess F&F market trends, customer needs, and application developments to anticipate market shifts and support strategic decision-making.



Main Tasks

  • Deliver actionable Market and Competitive Intelligence across both core and specialty ingredient portfolio. Derive strategic and tactical initiatives.
  • Own end-to-end competitive intelligence framework, covering competition mapping, competitor profiles, competitor landscaping, competitor benchmarking, etc.
  • Compile and synthesize market, competitive, and customer intelligence into high‑quality reports and measures.
  • Be the key interface for competitive intelligence and enable knowledge transfer across relevant cross‑functional and multidisciplinary teams.



Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in science, business management, economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in Market and Competitive Intelligence, product management, strategic marketing, corporate strategy, or business strategy
  • Experience in developing and presenting strategic recommendations to various levels of management
  • Experience in intercultural, cross-functional, and multidisciplinary environments, ideally both in a global and Asia‑focused context.
  • Strong strategic thinking and entrepreneurial mindset, with strong analytical thinking required
  • Excellent analytical skills & structured problem‑solving approach. Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills, with high self‑motivation and strong organizational capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of P&L and balance sheets, basic knowledge of company valuations
  • Excellent command of written & spoken in Mandarin skills are a strong advantage
  • Proficiency in AI-tools.
