Job Summary

The Control Room Boardman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating terminal operations to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted processes. This role involves providing clear instructions to shift teams, monitoring product movements, and ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Logistics Department to execute feedstock and product movements smoothly, minimizing customer complaints
• Oversee commissioning and decommissioning of terminal facilities safely and in a controlled manner
• Respond promptly to operational issues by implementing corrective actions and maintaining accurate shift logs
• Investigate custody transfer discrepancies and issue Letters of Protest (LOPs) when necessary
• Monitor product transfers to ensure accuracy and prevent overfilling or spillage
• Provide guidance and training to newly onboarded operational staff to ensure competency
• Coordinate vessel movements with the Pilot Office and shipping agents to ensure timely berthing and departure
• Prepare, verify, and submit all shipping documentation to the Logistics Department accurately and on time
• Liaise with surveyors and shipping agents to maintain smooth operational coordination
• Troubleshoot control systems including firefighting, emergency shutdown, and tank gauging systems to maintain operational integrity
• Raise maintenance requests for equipment defects and follow up to ensure timely resolution
• Plan and allocate manpower for shift operations, including arranging replacements as needed
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure readiness for repair and maintenance work

Required competencies and certifications

• Engineering Technology Certificate or GCEA-Level
• Minimum 5 years of operational experience in the oil storage industry as a Technician; OR
• At least 2 years of experience as a Control Room Boardman
