How should a student which studied physics prepare his career and working skills?

I am a physics student which will graduate in the following year, as a physics degree student, I learned applied math, statistics, mechanics, and also some computing skills. However, in my concern, I am not professional in any specific courses, to compete with ones with a degree in math or statistics for work in data science, or compete who has a degree in engineering or applied science for work in engineering. Suppose I have some time to be ready now, what should I work for now? Suppose I have more interest in the field of data science, what does the HR or industry determine a fresh graduate is suitable for the work? Thanks for answering.
