1. Taking credit for their colleagues' contributions to a team project

When the boss congratulates them on a job well done, they don't mention that they had a lot of help. "Why does the boss need to know, anyway? Who cares about teamwork. Better to look like I did it all on my own." When this person needs some help on the next project, their co-workers will not be on their team.

 

2. Talking loudly on their phone

Nobody wants to listen to your cell phone conversations. They are not as entertaining to anyone as they are to you. 

 

3. Sharing every single thing with their colleagues 

Your coworkers are not interested in every single thing about your personal life. They might even feel uncomfortable if you share very personal matters, especially when they're not that close to you.

4. Coming to work ill (IN 2020!?!?)

If someone has a cold or a stomach virus, they should not spread it around by coming to work. The employee should have the decency to call in sick and stop spreading the illness further. Also, there's a pandemic going on out there, so you know... try not to make people even more scared.

 

5. Discussing religion and politics with coworkers

Ah, religion and politics ... two topics about which everyone is in total agreement. Well, no. Your coworkers may be very sensitive about these topics, so you don't want to offend them by discussing these matters.

 

6. Spamming colleagues' WhatsApp

Do not spam tons of WhatsApp messages to all your coworkers. It can be very annoying, and you coworkers might as well mute you on that app. Or worse, block you. Can you block people on WhatsApp? Yes, you can.

 

7. Telling dirty jokes

It's not appropriate to tell dirty jokes at work, no matter how close you are with a coworker. Worse, some other colleague might overhear it and not appreciate your joke and might report you to the management. 

 

8. Chewing gum loudly

This is as annoying as eating very loudly. You're in the pantry, with the door closed, and coworkers from 20 meters away can still hear you chewing. That's amazing. But yes, mind your manners, especially when you're eating.

9. Not carrying their own weight

If you don't do your fair share of the work required by your department, your colleagues will have to pick up the slack. They'll be so tired from doing all the work, and you're just there chilling. Don't be that person.

 

10. Talking down to their colleagues

You may think talking down to your coworkers will make you look strong like your boss, but a condescending attitude will only make you look pathetic. Also, your colleagues and your boss will not appreciate your snobby attitude.
